The P-09 is CZ's full-size features a versatile Omega trigger system which provides a crisp single action trigger break, while providing the safety of a DA first-pull option. It utilizes an installed decocker, but can easily be converted to a manual safety with the supplied parts and instructions. Also included are small, medium, and large backstraps allowing the user to customize the pistol's grip while retaining the natural point of aim. With an integrated 1913 Picatinny rail, the P-09 is readily adaptable to low-light situations. This model has a black finish and comes with a 10-round magazine.

My finest shooting 9mm

There are four things I love about the gun.

The DA/SA trigger is one of the best I've encountered in a new gun. I'm not fooling with it.

The gun is very accurate with the right ammunition. I've been reloading RMR's 124 grain Matchwinner bullets. It's my first 9mm that will compete with my old High Standard Supermatic.

The gun is reliable. Anything from high powered NATO rounds to inexpensive plinking ammunition, the gun devours them like a teenager with a can of potato chips.

Finally 19 round magazines. Need I say more.

On the minus side, it's not a small gun; about the same size as a 1911. If you can carry a 1911 concealed, you can carry the P-09. With the 19 round magazines, it's a splendid hunting or home defense gun.

This is my first gun with a plastic lower receiver. We'll see how it holds up.
